The unsaid things in life are usually the most profound and meaningful, humans are an inherently expressive species. But even then, we have perceived the beauty of the unsaid. It creates a sort of mystery wrapped in curiosity that makes everything all the more interesting. Now what do I mean exactly by unsaid things??
The idea behind the concept of “unsaid things” and its effects: Life is filled with moments that we humans find difficult to express and sometimes even to understand, that is probably why we turn to poetry, music and art to define those unnamed instances and emotions. One of the pioneer of such paintings was van Gogh, his paintings, even though lacking in the conventional sense, managed to portray emotions in a way that even a kid would understand. It’s beautiful how we can express what we cannot articulate through colors and sounds.
Sometimes we leave things unsaid because of how we think others will react, the fear of judgement and rejection eats away at our intellectual capacity to be expressive, this creates a generation who finds comfort in the things that gives them some kind of appreciation without judgement, they prefer to live in a world of fantasy rather than reality. The more we express ourselves, the more we find ourselves at peace, we make more aquaintances, forge stronger bonds and create our own happiness rather than wait around for it to appear in your lap.
The unsaid things in life can be in many forms, the one compliment you never gave, the one apology we should’ve made, the one thank you we forgot to say. At the moment it might look trivial and unimportant, but as time goes by it morphes into the one of the worst emotions human kind was blessed with, “regret”. Some regrets never go away, they linger on and eat away your present, and do not allow the formation of a better future. Throwing away regret makes You a horrible human while holding on to it makes you a depressed one, so what to do with it? It’s simple really, use it. Use the regret to achieve greater things. Turn the sorrow into the motivation you need to stay deviplines. The rest will fall into place on itself.
In conclusion, We all should have a secret keeper, someone who could keep your demons and not be scared about it. It could be a blog, could be a human, could even be yourself. Just don’t keep everything in, we have 5 senses to see the world around us, it’s to help us project our thoughts and memories outside, not keep them in. Which is probably why the old Norse God Odin had 2 Ravens names “thought” and “memory” (hugin and munin). Let’s all become chatterboxes.
Until next time, stay curious and keep questioning!
